Jasper's First Christmas

Hope you all have a fab Christmas and a very happy new year!

If anyone has any ideas how I can stop him from pulling all the baubles off the Christmas tree that'd be great (we brought plastic ones so he wouldn't break them and hurt himself). It is very cute when he carries them around the house and brings them to us as presents, but my tree is now bare!!

Lovely lovely pics! Re bauble thieving, sorry, there's nothing you can do....Monty is exactly the same! He's bored with the baubles now and has moved on to the fairies and angels....oh well!!!

We done the no's & when that didn't work we resorted to the quick squirt of water with the no until they gave up,daughter just said no you must not do that & took cat to the one bauble it was allowed to play with "on tree,not off"& has had a perfectly behaved furry from that day on,all good fun really though isn't it,you can just imagine all the houses with MC's in them having great fun times.I have just come from my breeder friends,up to today she has had five babes there as well,one went this morning,another tomorrow but she has got all her decks & tree out,thought she was very brave but could they be one litter of ready trained MC's when it comes to xmas.......
luv Jasper,he looks like a real softie trying to pretend he is really mean looking at the camera,shame all that hard work helping with the undecorating wears you out so much !

Luckily our two have not shown that much interest in demolishing the tree - they'll bat the lower ornaments every now and again but are more interested in trampling all over the wrapped presents underneath it and playing with the ribbons and bells they are decorated in!!!

One suggestion I can think of which might work is to tie the lower baubles tighter to the tree with small strands of cotton that can be cut off when it comes to dismantling the tree. It will make the baubles nearer to each branch but it may well do the trick in deterring them if they don't have a pen knife to hand! :smile:

Because I was a coward and not brave enough to the normal tree, our pre-decorated pop-up Christmas tree has been a stroke of genius. It's even more obviously fake than Joan Rivers BUT because the tree was pre-dressed the baubles are attached by cable tie. Even Wicca couldn't chew through those! As a result, our tree - and the baubles - are utterly intact. Which is more than can be said for the reindeers standing guard at the bottom of the tree... :LOL:

Thanks guys! The tinsel on the cat tree was an after thought because he loved playing or 'helping' when we were putting up the real tree! Funnily enough, Jasper has stopped bothering with the baubles now there's wrapping paper about! It seems boxes and paper are the best presents ever (he's not even sniffed at his real presents!).

No tinsel and festive stuff over here though... spent Christmas day clearing the plastic sheets off the floor and putting everything back in place.:pissed:
But in the evening we built a nice log fire in the fireplace and sat by it with a bottle of wine and some hot snacks. Which was cosy.:nod:

Now the festivities are over we can all relax...no wait, I forgot about the sales!!!:toolkit:

I saw cars queuing on the M1 to get to Meadowhall this afternoon from 2 junctions before the Meadowhall junction! Now thats a lot of people!

Have only just downloaded photos taken before xmas but for some reason Merlyn took a fancy to the photo of Jasper,he laid looking at the screen for ages,I went & made a drink,came back,woke the computer up again & he still continued to stare,perhaps it was the tinsel around the neck that caught his attention....
Poor Antonia had plastic sheeting down because of a slight "leakage" problem, but pleased to see she could enjoy some liquid beverage.
Sales,you are brave,toolkit or not I know they are the one place I wouldn't want to be,crowds make me panic......

Awww! He's got such a fantastic big muzzle. Lovely. :)

As Jackie already pointed out, we had a roof leak in the living room extension. It's fixed now, but next year we'll probably need to have the roof and ceiling renovated. Not something I am looking forward to. :no:
