Can somebody tell me if my kitten is a Maine Coon?
Im clueless when its comes to cats but I was given a kitten a few month ago and the vet told me he might be a Maine Coon. I didn't know what they were talking about. So I checked online and read the description of a maine coon and he fits alot of them but I have no way of telling for sure, maybe somebody can help me out. He's going on 6 months and is about 8 pounds.

Can somebody tell me if my kitten is a Maine Coon?
I am certainly not an expert but he has all features of Maincoon. He may belong to one of the three fluffiest breeds (MC,Siberian or Norwegian Forest)
If you look at your cat's profile, draw the outline and compare to these images you may be able to determine :
Comparative between Siberian, Norwegian forest cat and Maine coon. - Artannes'Cattery
Not all Maincoons have tufts on their ears, and he has puffy whisker's pads, so I vote for MC. Breederes may give you better advice.

I just reviewed again the picture of my kittes great grandmother, Yaneshka Galadriel. She looks very much like your cat:

Whatever breed your cat, he is a stunner and I hope his personality matches his looks. You have a good one there. Best of luck.

My goodness, isn't he a beauty. Certainly he has the tail and the face and the size of a MC. But in any case, aren't you lucky, he's gorgeous! And loves the camera...

Halcyon..I am interested to see your baby as if the grandmother is Yaheska Galadriel, then my boys are uncles to your baby. Yaheska Galadriel has the same daddy as my white boys, the wonderful Yaheska White Storm.
It is very difficult to say if your cat is a MC as I believe that MC's can have a different look in Europe and America(can of worms opened maybe), some being more extreme than others so it would depend on the lines bred with. Also , show lines tend to have a more extreme look. It also could be he is part MC. He certainly looks like there is some MC in there.
I have an 'older' type MC who has smaller ears with very little Lynx tips...it will be interesting to see how he matures, pretty baby

Sure looks like one, some of the white MC sometimes do not have as much bone and they do not have big tufts on the ears,
but could also be a Siberian? example of a stunning white Siberian attached.

Wow, he is a stunner! What's his name?
Also I think he has some clear MC characteristics. Ears are a bit smallish, but so are our Tatja's. Only his weight seems on the low side... our Monty, who is by no means an exceptionally large Coon, weighed about 4 kgs (8.8 pounds) at that age and had just been recovering from a bout of diarrhoea.
Anyway, welcome to the forum! Looking forward to see and hear more about your stunning Snowman.

Thank you everyone for the nice commets about my kitty. He gets the same reaction all the time when people see him for the first time, its amazing. His name is Blanco, I got him when he was about 3 month from someones backyard cause they wanted to get rid of a litter. He's a very playful cat, its like having a little kid in the house. He plays with just about anything he can push with his paws. He's very affectionate with me but very shy around people. I'll try to post pictures of him from time to time. The ones below are pics of him when I first got him and what he looked like when he was outside. He was 3 month in these pics.

Hi JT and Blanco - he is a fine looking cat. Again, no MC expert here, but from what I've seen on the gallery I would agree with everyone's comments - definitely some MC in there; toe tufts, muzzle, tail, the way he likes to sleep (loved the kitten photo of him sleeping on his side - both my MC's do that a lot but my old moggie never did). Like the guys all say, whatever he is, he's a fab looking cat and sounds like he's got a great personality.
