Another vote for Worlds Best here. We used the original (blue packet) one first, but that caused a lot of tracking and I found yellow foot prints all over the window sills and other light coloured surfaces. I then changed to the extra strength Worlds Best (green packet) and this has been really good and does not track at all. There is always a poo smell when Mufasa decides to 'go', but I have the litter tray in the utility room which has an extractor fan . As has been said it is very easy just to flush the clumps down the loo and there is hardly any smell from the tray at all. It is also easy to order Worlds Best from on-line suppliers and I buy the largest packet from whoever is the cheapest at the time. I have investigated the chick crumb but the nearest supplier is miles away and I can imagine all sorts of complications with supply.

Thanks for all the tips!
I think there is an issue with the OH's nose here! Not sure which one of you is first in line to rectify it though!
I'm glad I wasn't crazy in thinking that we were changing the litter far too often. Personally I find that a few minutes after he's done a poop, the smell definitely dies down and I find it much easier to dispose of it by that point. I think the smell does linger a bit though, especially in the lounge. His tray is in the hallway because there's nowhere else for it to go in this flat really - the hall has a wooden floor which is preferable to carpet and we would put it in the bathroom but there's no space for it. He eats in the kitchen and there's nowhere we can really put it which would be far enough from his food. I find that even once I've removed the poop, it still smells a bit but that's nothing a good spraying of Oust and plenty of ventilation can't fix in my opinion!
I'll show all of this to Dave and see what he says. I don't mind paying a bit more for something which works out being cheaper/better in the long run.
Also! I thought Catsan was clumping but apparently it's not...am I a dumbass? Lol! I was wondering why it was never very clumpy...it is pretty dusty though. Thank god for hoovers! Our landlord knew we were going to have a cat here and when she replaced the hoover (the previous tenants had taken the old one), it had a massive sticker on it saying 'great for households with pets!' (Teddy would disagree, he's terrified of it!).

We use Pets at Home lightweight non-clumping antibacterial which does seem to reduce the smell. Hooded trays with a charcoal filter seem to help (although one of our three MCs likes to pull the filter out so we can't use them!!).
