Itchy Ear?
Buddy has been scratching at his left ear almost non stop today. When offering him affection he quickly moves so you scratch his ear. I tried looking in it, through dense fur and can't see anything obvious like the brown residue from canker. He seems normal, appetite normal, litterbox normal etc. Got vet appointment Weds but any ideas?

Hello!
My cat Tai Tai has this very issue. The vet took swabs and said that he doesn't have mites, it's a sort of yeast infection.
I now clean his ears out three times a week (which is like wrangling a ticked off lion) which seems to help. I know it's time to clean them earlier when he starts digging at them, and will sometimes hiss after. I use an over the counter cleaner made for 'daily cleaning'.
But I would rule out the mites first.

Sorry not been on line for a couple of days, took him to Vets on Wednesday and its not ear mites but a yeast infection. He's given me some drops to put in his ear and then basically fold the ear over and rub til cats had enough - I give up after about 20 mins, Buddy would sit there all day.
Think Buddy and Tai Tai have a lot in common, he likes to escape as well.
