    Smile Oh so many questions!

If you have seen my post in Intros you will know I am counting down the long slow days to getting my new Coonie He is 2 years old. I would really appreciate any help on this as I have never had an older cat come to live with us before, only ever had kittens....

Would it be ok for us to change his name? His name is currently Kasper, and tbh we dont like the name. (my aunt had a snotty old siamese called casper so it brings him to mind) Plus my OH is being grumpy enough about this as it is, so wants the kids to have a say in what he is called.

Secondly he has not been vaccinated since he was a kitten. He was due a Vaccine last august, but never had it. The breeder said since he is solely indoors that she only vaccinates every 3 years unless showing. I understand this and thats perfectly fine, but I may need to put him in a cattery for holidays etc. Do they still need to be fully vaccinated to stay in a cattery? (Its been a while, haha) Also our garden is frequented by dozens of local moggies, and my children run in and out daily- will they be bringing in potential risks on their shoes etc? Also if I were to buy a harness and take him out he would need to be fully vaccinated, right? Im aware I am kind of answering my own question here but any feedback would be really appreciated

What do you do re: Vaccinations?

Any tips/advice on settling in an older MC would be fantastic. I have had a MC before, but new boy will be the only cat for a while so other pets are not an issue. Just want to make his transition as smooth as poss.
