We've noticed that Whiskey sits with his paws pointing outward. He does everything else fine. His paws point forward when he walks. He just sits this way. I've never had a cat do this before. This picture shows his legs apart but most times they are together with the paws pointing out. My other cats always sat with their paws centered & pointing forward. Is this something to be concerned about?

It does tend to be a bit of a MC trait,have been hunting the forum because a long while ago there was a discussion on this & how some of them have a really bent foot from the wrist but I can't find it. Have posted one of Bruce & you can just see how his left leg bends at a funny angle from the wrist & turns outwards,did post better ones of him in the other thread & they are on one of my many pen drives but of course I don't know which one...
As long as Whiskey walks etc ok then don't worry it is him being a MC...xAttachment 5964
Whew, t's nice to see that this isn't something to worry about & just a trait of the MC. I searched the forum 1st before posting but didn't find anything. Apparently I searched the wrong words. Using "bend" or "bent" brought up a thread on carpal hyperextension which talks about bent legs. Thank you.
P.S. Bruce is a handsome fellow.
My Larry's back legs are at a funny angle, they touch at the knees and the lower legs point outwards, as if he's knock-kneed. It looks a bit funny when you see him walking away from you or standing, but he's not at all bothered by it.
Tatja often sits with her front paws pointed outwards too, as you can see in the pic.
I think it looks rather endearing. :)

Out of my 15 Coonies I think 5 are like this, nothing to worry about :) Rocky is the worst, he walks normally but when he sits upright his front paws are at "Ten to Two" Well it's probably more like "Quarter to Three" haha!
Howlinbob, my Diesel is exactly the same, it's hilarious when he's walking away from you as it looks like his back legs are buckling under the weight, again tho it's not a problem, just looks a bit funny :)

Another "cow hocked" male in my party too he looks so weird from the back when he runs have always reckoned if we turned him out amoungst a field of bullocks you wouldn't know the difference,so ungainly....
Thanks to all and love the stories of your furbabies. I guess Whiskey just fits right in with the bunch.
Nothing much to add to this topic - Kenny's front paws tend to point outwards sometimes, but all I wanted to say was how gorgeous all our coonies are and how lucky we are that they allow us in their lives.
