Hi all, what age would you suggest getting a Tom MC neutered?

Thanks, that's what I read online, at about 6 months but I read some get done earlier as it could have a faster healing time? It's just he has quite a set on him now at 3 months!

There is another thread on here too"opinions on early neutering" & I have a feeling there are even more about somewhere.
There is not much difference at all between doing them early or later as far as recovery goes, they are either cut & pulled or if larger cut pulled & the tubes tied off in case of bleeding either way they come round as quick & get over it equally as quick, as with all ops some might have a slight reaction what ever the age. There are not many MC's that are not pretty well developed down there in fact they are the easiest breed to sex at birth as very often they are quite prominent even then.....!
I & luckily my breeder are more for the later neutering in the MC boys,my last ones were over the year & had no trouble or smell from them & as they are house cats no outside challenges to their manhood.

Max had his operation at six months - at that time I thought that was just the accepted age and wasn't aware of all the different views I've read here on the forum. Anyway - I had no reason to regret it - when I brought him home from the vet he was just his normal self and suffered no ill effects at all.

Thanks for all the advice, we're going to take him to the vet next week as they do a plan for cats that includes the booster injection, castration & microchip
Thanks again
