Maine Coon & Other Cat ; Spitting & Hissing
My mom's 6 year old cat is still running and chasing and then spitting at my 5 month old kitten Chelsea. Then when I try to catch my mom's cat shes too fast for me so I can't spray water at her unless I get her trapped.

We've had Chelsea since early June. Can someone please give me some advice or tips to get my mom's cat to stop the hissing & the spitting!!??? Its urgent. Its almost to where Chelsea is so scared of even going into her room. (we keep her locked up in the bathroom when Boo is not locked up)
I forgot to mention that Boo has not been the only cat- we had a cat first, Fancy. Fancy and Boo were not best friends but they tolerated each other. Fancy was around first and Boo and her were together for about 5 years. LOL no I did not throw the 2 cats together, I introduced them together slowly and cautiously. Is this stuff found at Petsmart???
They have their own rooms, litterbox, food spots; we have played with the 2 cats at the same time so that one does not feel neglected. They pretty much by now, have the house to themselves when we are home watching them.
ALSO: my mother gets upset when Chelsea pounces out in front of Boo but I try to explain to her, Chelsea has been chased & bullied for so long that by now she is just standing her
ground now too. When this is done, there is no hissing and no physical contact; Chelsea just will jump out in front of Boo and stay there for a few seconds. Is there a way to explain this to my mother so that she will understand this is normal for kittens just getting their confidence??
