Is this common Maine Coon kitten behavior? :-)
So to recap, I rescued a Maine Coon kitten back the end of September, she's about 18 weeks old now. She is a real sweet girl, I've never EVER had a kitten that's so affectionate. If I'm lying on the couch at night she will jump up on top of my chest then just plop herself across my neck and nuzzles my check with her nose and seems to prefer to sleep with her cheek right up against mine.
When she's racing through the house it's almost like she's galloping, it's a funny sort of run. And at night when she's on my bed chasing my toes or being frisky jumping off the bed then back onto it, it's almost as if she "springs up" when she jumps, it's hilarious!
When she's frisky and running around, she makes this sweet little almost ?chirping noise, have never heard a cat make such a noise.
Strangely though, although she's super affectionate and friendly with me (and was from the moment I rescued her), she's very skittish around company and will hide from them (though will peek to see what's going on LOL).
Sometimes she'll even plop herself across the top of my head when I'm lying down, with her fuzzy little huge paws (She's a polydactyl) covering my eyes. She is just fixated with my head and neck and chest.
Not much of a lap cat though, mostly because she's so curious and always wanting to play, doesn't sit still for too long unless she's having a cat nap.
Is this typical MC personality?
