    Shampoo suggestions

I've just used the last of the bottle, and am looking for suggestions for a nice cat shampoo. What I used before was some cheap stuff I came across, but it didn't lather well and I had to use a ton to get the job done. I've seen some interesting brands online, but because of the ingredients they don't ship to the UK. Has anyone found something they're particularly pleased with?

    Hi there,

I bathed my 2 MC kittens at the weekend and used Neutral Shampoo by Trixie from Zooplus.co.uk and I didn't have to use a lot and it lathered up nicely and got rid of the nasty uriny smell the boys had picked up so I am more than happy with it and its a large bottle so will last for a while. Here's the link:

It depends on why you need to bath the cat!

Kittens seem to be ok with baby shampoo and complete rinsing - the "no more tears" is best.

For particularly nasty gunk, Fairy washing up liquid and a lot of rinsing will cut through practically anything, but it is not terribly kind to the fur - only for embedded earwax on the head in my vet's recommendations.

For more "normal" washing, the best I have found so far is Nootie dog shampoo which says in the small print on the back that it is safe for cats too. I have used it about 20 times so far (in just over a month - ear mite drops went everywhere) and the cat is still alive.
I have just bought a spray conditioner to try as well. It comes in two fragrances - sniff the bottles before you buy because the smell is EXTREMELY persistent and you will be living with it for a couple of weeks, at least! Our rather butch tom wafts sweet pea and vanilla behind him as he stalks around the garden...
