Ears, fur, and size
Hello, I am new here and curious about young Maine Coon kittens. Is it apparent at birth that they are Maine Coons? I look up Moon Coon kittens and don't see any really young kittens.
Specifically I want to know:
-are they born with ear tufts and if not when do they start to grow in?
-how quickly does it become apparently that they are long furred? Can it take a while for their coat to fill in?
-Are they big from birth or are they a slow growing breed? I know it can take 4 years for them to reach full size but at the baby kitten age are they the same size as regular kittens? How big should they be?

Well, I can't help you for the first part because I got mine from a breeder and we brought her home when she was already 13 weeks. I have a picture of her, she is 3 weeks in that and it seemed to me that the fur was already longer than any normal kitten of the same age.
Coat at 13 weeks was already quite long if compared to another cat of shorthair breed. She is now 5 months and it is quite long in some points. Not all MC kittens grow at the same speed and become the same size. Sif is now nearly 3 kg., expected to be about 5-6 kg. by the time she is one. God knows what her weight will be when she is four!
I don't think their size is the same as other kittens. My neighbour has a 15yr old Siamese female adult cat and Sif was as big as her when she got home and she was barely 3 months old.....
