Help how do you sex kittens
After weighing the kittens we started to worry about the weight difference and John said what if Rufus is a girl!!!
We have checked their private bits and they are different, Hector has a lager gap between his bum and boy biy and Rufus has a very small gap inbetween.
As I can not email one of my many vet contacts tonight has anyone any experience in these matters???

There a number of sites that come up when you Google "sexing cats" and what you describe is the classic difference between boy and girl, e.g.:

Sounds like "Rufus" is actually a girl!

Help
I love it,sex change done the quick easy way...! Bet you will find it more fun though having one of each, I find the girls are always busy, busy & the boys after their play just curl up & attempt to watch them with half an eye open !

It's official Rufus is a girl! my so call friend of a vet replied to me when he could see to type after his laughing fit! Then sent me what I can only describe as hard core kitten porn just to make sure!
It would apear it happens quite often to little old ladies who think they have two of the same sex until one starts to get a little chubby and are then horrified to find out why! Oh the life of a small animal vet.

Actually nice to have one of each in many ways. Boy and girl MCs tend to have different personalities on average. The only problem is that the boy will probably get larger, so the girl may not want to play with him at some point. This caused us to end up getting a second male as the first outgrew our female and she started getting angry about him jumping on her (they had been great friends when the male was smaller than her).
