not sure if you read in an earlier post I posted:confused: my youngest lissa, she pinches things from the neighbour! I have to go back and return them, I honestly don't know why she does it! she also used to suck one of her pads before settling down, it looked like she was sucking her thumb, bless! after she had her op (ladies bits) she stopped straight away, I miss her doing it though it was so cute! my other, kassie, she nibbles my toes in the morning if I dont answer to her finely tuned chirp first thing, for her breakfast!
Awee the sucking of the pads are soo cute! Shame shes stopped. Must have been a joy watching her. Ive read that coonies do tend to 'pinch' things from other people too, as Ive said, they have great personalities. See the more I hear things about them the more I cant wait to have our kitty home :D
It's so funny how they love to play with water! We have a Fresh Flow water fountain for them to drink from and we had to put it in the bathroom, cause else they would splash water all through the living room.
Willow likes to wash our hair and Indy is an alcohol addict. Whenever one of us drinks a glass of wine or baileys while watching tv or something, we have to watch our glass very carefully cause Indy usually tries to take a sip from the glass himself.
But apart from that, they're actually very sweet and nice. They're absolutely not as naughty as our Oriental Shorthair!
All mine like to stand in the water bowl splash the water out of the bowl then have a drink i spend more time mopping the floor.
One of my girls likes to sit on the side of the bath when i am in it, then stands on me and plays in the water, they are water mad !! .
Coonie Girl
hi coonie girl, I have to agree lol mine are water mad too! its right what the books, say a running tap sends them completely dopey! one of mine, puts her paw in the water bowl and then rubs her paw down my dishwasher! I always say its lissa doing her house work! and like you I spend a lot of time clearing up puddles! although the side of my dishwasher is very clean lol
Last night I was drinking a glass of water while watching tv and suddenly, Indy jumped on the couch and just put his paw into my glass:eek:
Yep, they definately are water mad!:D
I was watching some YouTube videos of Maine Coon Cats last night and I think one of the cutest things that they do is when they use their paws to drink water. Lol. I just couldnt stop 'awwweing'. Lol.
I still cant get over the way Hank drinks his water by 'scraping' the top (so that the water goes EVERYWHERE!) and then putting both of his paws in the bowl while drinking. Then after he then drinks from his paw. The floor is always 'flooded' after. I know it seems funny now but I hope he finds a way to do it more elegantly as he grows older! Haha so cute tho!
Winston seems to have a knack for discovering all the fluff that my hoover did not sunction up. It's great fun watching him batting "fluff" around the place. He's been ratherr good with his water bowl so we have not seen much "waterplay" yet.
I always get a laugh when he crawls under the space of the sofa "to hide" but we always spot him as his bum and tail sticks out :AddEmoticons00948:
He also seems to love "boxing" and trying to get my husband's attention by boxing him with his paw !
Ours plays a game we have called 'Boo' basically hide and seek through the stairs banisters
She has also gone mad for another game called 'Bubbles' (she seems to recognise the words/tones as when we say bubbles she starts looking for the bubbles) Asda do some party blowing bubbles in little test tubes, they shoot out in the hundreds and burst very fast- when we get the bubbles out she chirps and chases/watches the bubbles
She also sits on the bath when I am in shower just watching water flowing away- it's just a matter of time before she gets in whilst it's on, she fell in the bath the other day whilst it was pouring
When I am making my bead necklaces she can be a pain in the bum and wants whatever I am working on, I try to give her a big bead to go off and play with but she loses interest and wants the ones I am trying to use!
We find the most odd stuff on the floor- I'd never ever buy a toy as she is amused by extremely boring household stuff, her new favourite is cellotape rolls and she was nicking the bows off presents at Xmas time.
I forgot she also puts her paw in the water, but just once then drinks, looks like she is seeing how much is in there- so we always thought anyway
Do any of yours 'guard' the doors?
She usually sits at top of stairs or in the door ways as if she is guarding
Haha. Hank also loves to do the 'Boo' thing too. Sometimes, Im scared that one of these days he's going to swipe me on the head while Im going upstairs!
He also loves climbing up the vertical blinds, though Im really trying to discourage him he's not listening to me, so I think I'm just going to give up. And yes, he has a thing for cellotape too, carrier bags (though I have to be really careful with them) so I give him empty sweet packets instead.
He also had fun in the shower today, watching it drip and playing with the water, and getting soaked!
I love reading the funny things they get up, such charachters! I :001_wub: them!
Our 6mos old kitten has gotten so that if we open the cat food cabinet, he gets into it and tries to grab one of the treat bags. If he gets one, he runs off with it. Then this morning I found him in the living room with the World's Best litter bag that I had put in the trash last night (a fairly large bag). Actually I had emptied it into a litter pan last night because I found he had chewed on it during the day yesterday and there was litter all over my closet (the litter is corn based and safe to eat!). The treat bags he grabs to try to get the treats out of. I think he chewed on the litter bag because he has been teething again (his top canines have been coming in).
Storvenn attempts to eat the black bin bag in the kitchen bin. We've had to tuck it inside the bin now!
Beau Kitty is an employee in my home. His job is Mommy Waker-Upper. The second he hears the alarm clock at 5:00AM when I have to wake up for work, he jumps on the bed and pesters me until I get up. He'll put his paws in my face, knead me with his big ol' hands, lick my face, or if I am being extremely lazy, he gets fed up and bites me (gently, of course - he's no meany)! I'd never wake up without my baby to help me! And on weekends when the alarm doesn't go off, he knows to leave Mommy alone.
Beau also loves the bathtub/shower. Whenever there is water running, he's right there waiting! He won't drink out of a plain water dish and he hasn't as long as I've had him. He has a Drinkwell fountain that he loves!
Finally, Beau loves watching golf and football (NFL) on t.v.! He'll actually sit and watch it! Then he dozes off like a little old man.
Well...
I came home last night to find my electronic drum kit cables, 2 of them completely chewed through! Guess that says something about their appreciation for my drumming skills :)
Not expensive, just a quick trip to amazon to replace them. The remaining cables are hidden now :)
Seems that my MC Marquis is quite normal...
He too loves water, his favorite thing is to push his water bowl around and make the water spill over..for some strange reason it seems to fascinate him..
The result?..I put water in the bowl, Marquis makes sure it get out again.
I also have an aquarium and he spends much time starring at the fish, no doubt contemplating how to get to those tasty looking morsels:LOL:
I was eating my four shredded wheat in a bowl, walking around finding stuff ready for work.
Loki decided that whatever was in my bowl was worth investigating so ran UP my leg, chest and onto my shoulders. Amazing how much grip a set of claws will give em...
I got my son to take a photo as he thought it was hilarious :)

Storvenn shares Lokis lack of sympathy for my body as he explains that he really doesnt want 'smooths' and just wants to play :)

Ouch
What beautiful colourings :)
Four shredded wheat, I am impressed ! I can also share this experience with you, Harry couldn't wait for me to prepare his breakfast so decided to jump onto my dressing gown and crawl his way up to my shoulder to jump on the work unit ! Luckily it's a fleece type gown and very thick, I hope by the summer when the cotton one comes out of the cupboard he will be too big to attempt it :(
That looks painful! Great picture though - even got those claws digging in!
lol.... they are gorgeous. I keep telling the kids I'm going to teach Gryfn to attack them when they don't get ready for school or go to bed when told!
