Minimum age for choosing a kitten
Hi,
I'm just about ready (after 18 months of research and waiting for the right time) to get my very first MC, well very first cat in factim really excited but don't want to rush into anything blindly. I've found an amazing breeder who has let me come visit her & her cats on a regular basis despite the fact that I haven't been in a position to buy for a while and I roughly know what I'm looking for in terms of kitten sex/colour.
With the all that in mind, I was wondering at what age people generally choose their kitten at? Or what age it is expected for you to choose at/put a deposit down? I'm getting 2 kittens and ideally I'd like to have one that is showable but I know this can be tricky to tell until later on - any ideas on what age this should be more apparent by? Also I read lots of stories about the kitten choosing you, but do they have much personality at 4wks/6wks/8wks/etc??
I don't want to pick kittens too early based on colour/sex when personality and temperament are more important.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks
