Neutered male 'assuming the position' on spayed female?
Hi all,
Hope someone can reassure me, slightly concerned. My female mc Chloe was sat on an armchair when my male mc Theo came along and they started fighting - nothing unusual there, they have fought over who gets to sit on this chair before! Chloe wasn't really putting much effort into fighting him off, maybe as she had just woke up, then I noticed Theo biting the back of her neck as they do when they mate, and then to my horror, I realised he was on top of her, almost in the mating position. After that they both went off, think I must have startled him.
Theo has been neutered and Chloe has been spayed so no chance of kittens, and I understand Theo wouldn't really be able to do much anyway - if you get my drift! But I still don't like the idea of him trying to have sex with Chloe.
Please excuse my ignorance on this subject, but is that what he's trying to do? Is it normal for a neutered Tom to try?

Merlyn still gets the "Urge",he is the only one we had neutered at 6months & for that reason because he hopped on anything & everything that moved,he still tries it on occasionally but because the girls hiss at him he soon backs off & peace returns,my daughters boy has periods when he humps his blanket, only one though none of the others,he drags it from his bed takes it into a corner, heaps it up ,goes through all the motions & then has to lie down to rest, bless him....
We don't laugh at him, promise {lie}but I guess that some of them don't accept fully that they can no longer play the part, hopefully if he does it too often Chloe will put him in his place or as you said it could all have been due to the unbalance in your house with Teddy & Cleo felt he had to try & step up his game !

MC Elvis has been "assuming the position" with my roommate's shoes on a few occasions lately.
Yes, he's been neutered.
Yes, we laugh at him.
Hopefully it's a passing fancy like chasing his tail round the cat tree and ripping out clumps of fur...

Thanks for the replies everyone! Fortunately there have been no incidents since (to my knowledge), so hopefully it will be a one off incident!
I hated the thought of poor Chloe being sexually harassed in her own home!
A little off topic, but it occurred to me when Candes mentioned the dominant cat. I always thought of Chloe as top cat, but it seems recently Theo has become more dominant and taken over the top cat position, any thoughts why they might have swapped roles?
