Heart warming story
Today this story was in the Dutch news.
In the harbor town of Velsen (near Amsterdam) an elderly man died of a heart attack recently. He was a familiar face around town… he looked like a vagrant and people who didn’t know him thought he was one. But in reality he was a retired businessman who’d made millions by trading in sea containers. When the will was read it turned out he’d left his entire fortune, about ten million euros, to an organisation that cares for the stray cats in the harbor area. The organisation said they will use the money to fund various animal welfare projects.Last edited by Antonia; 11th December 2010 at 02:06 PM.

Meh... turns out te be a hoax...
…by the biggest Dutch newspaper, the Telegraaf. They printed a rumour presenting it as fact and other papers and news sites copied it. The people from the cat rescue organisation are livid as they fear people who believe the story will stop donating. Grrrr…
I feel rather foolish for believing the story myself… should have known better. This particular newspaper does have a reputation for sensationalism.
