Games !
Now I am going to travel back in time ! Fasten your seat belts !!!!
Cast your mind back to the days before computers ! Yes that time did exist !! lol There existed in this time far far away things called board games ! Chess with a real board and pieces !!! lol Backgammon that you threw real dice with, monopoly, cluedo and many others do you remember ? lol
Now sometimes on a Saturday night I will go to my daughter and son-in-laws and we have a games night ! No computers just a good old fun night with board games. Its brilliant, and we have such a good time.
So my question is, do you still sit down and play board games or cards or dominoes or have you given them all up in favour of the click of a mouse !!! lolChris X

Chris, Yes every Friday night my husband and I play cribbage and 500 Rummy, both are card games and we laugh and talk and have the best time. I have taught my hubby backgammon, but we don't play that one much. When our kids come over we play a dice game called farkle, it is fun and does not require a lot of skill. Our kids love to play board games , some are for adults and some are for children. We have so much fun doing it together.

very rarely Chris! but when we do, we have loads of fun - had a Uno party a few months ago with a couple of friends and we howled with laughter!
also when we go to my husband's country, we kind of go back to basics for a bit, and we do have monopoly games there...

Donna it is so good to hear that computers havent done away with good old fashioned card games in your house ! There is just something so special about playing 'real' games and interacting with each other ! I love backgammon but because I win all the time my family are reluctant to play !!! lol Its great that your hear that games are still thriving in your home.

Ah see they have it right in your in-laws house, games that you can all have fun with, even if the money is fake !!! lol
See if you had fun at the Uno party (explain what that is by the way !!! lol) you should make a determined effort to play 'real' games more often, you will have lots of fun ! lolChris X

Uno is a card game usually for kids which works by tricking other people into taking your cards... the first person without cards left wins the hand, and then the others have to count points, we play a few hands and the first person who gets to a certain number of points looses the game... it gets very frustrating because you can get to 1 card and then end up back with a full set really quickly! If you have a few people around the table, and yeah a bottle of wine helps loosen things up, it gets really comical. Especially the way my husband plays, he's an arrogant so-and-so our friends love to put in his place and gang up on him - - with love obviously!
