All of my cats have their own scents, but I do have to admit Mandy's is my favorite. I think there is something special about MC "scent" LOL!!! I let her rub her face all over mine, which sometimes involves her rubbing her teeth/gums on my face. She also kneads my neck/shoulders and will sometimes start to suckle or lick like a little kitten would, and I just love the smell of her breath. DH says she has "garbage" breath or fishy breath, but I don't think so!! Rose doesn't smell like much of anything because she's very OCD about grooming, doesn't go outside, and stays perfectly clean at all times. Sampson smells like wet grass, dirt, and campfires, and Merlin smells like flea shampoo, fishy cat food, and generally like an old person getting over a cold. I think his scent will improve once he starts feeling better...(I hope!)

It's his breath/saliva, which he of course gets all over himself when he grooms. He's got a checkup on Monday to see how his extractions are healing and to see if there's anything else that needs taken care of. He probably needs a dental cleaning, which I'm sure he never had given the state of his teeth. The shelter director showed me pictures of the teeth they pulled...like something out of a horror movie...completely rotten, pus-filled, bloody....ugh!
