Well OMG !!! lol
As you all know with your new kitten you get a months free insurance mine was with Pet Plan, so I decided to phone them up today to take a policy out for Frazer when the months free runs out !!! OMG it is more expensive than my car and house insurance, I couldnt believe it, but Frazer will be covered for anything and everything so my mind is at ease now. I am the kind of person that if I didnt have the insurance something would happen !!! lol So how do your insurances fare with your other policies, I really couldnt believe how expensive it was, my individual horse ones are cheaper ! lol

I have Banfield insurance on Miss Ginger, $29.95/45.55 GBP a month I think it is a great deal as it covers all her shots and spaying. I never worry about taking her to the vet. Just call them and go, they are very close to home to!

Direct line - 15GBP per month I believe! shots not covered, spaying I don't think so either, to be honnest I didn't even check - I have to pay an excess when she does go to the vet, and also, she shouldn't be ill twice in her life with the same thing.... which Charlotte RIP kind of was actually, she had some kind of mammary condition, she had to be operated on once when she was about 8, then another kind of mammary condition when she was 15... had a hard time making the insurance understand that it wasn't the same condition. They did eventually.

" Charlotte RIP kind of was actually, she had some kind of mammary condition" Poor Charlotte, my kitty Sheena had a infection in one of her glands. I was wondering if it has anything to do with her being spayed so late in life or years . My male cat was neutered so I took my time getting her fixed. Poor baby I had to hold warm compresses on her and put medicine on it. She was not insured at the time.

Donna it is a good policy I have to say although there is an excess of £70 and neither shots or getting his wee gonads chopped of are included, just illness up to £12,000 per year, and if he is lost or stolen, which he wont be cos he aint getting out of the house !!!!! lol I have to say I wont be without it better to be safe than sorry !

Chris, the only time Ginger gets out of the house is on a leash with a harness! I never want my baby to get lost or hurt, she is too precious to me. Although they can be sneaky so for extra insurance I had her chipped just in case, she does not wear a collar so the tag is hanging with her rabies tag on my bulletin board. She had a collar but that a whole nother story!

for some reason Neevie did not take so well to the collar either :-P
yeah and I confirm Charlotte got spayed later in life too. I think I had a quack as a vet, who operated on her at any occasion - took all her teeth one by one poor darling.... she was sooooo small and skinny at the end, not sure if it was because of lack of teeth or her late spaying that seems to have triggered some kind of thyroid problems. Anyway, that insurance got used a lot....
