Norwegian Forrest cats
Hi everyone! Does anyone here have any experience with NFC? I have been researching them and they seem to be a lot like the Maine Coons? I am thinking about getting another kitten. I was originally thinking of getting a Oriental short hair kitten and naming it Gizmo because they look like Gremlins but that was before I got my girl Ginger! Now I am looking for a companion for Miss Ginger, that would be pretty much equal in size. I love male cats, because of their laid back personalities and I think it may calm her down a bit.

I have met a lot of NFC's through showing & think they are a super breed & are equally as cuddly as the MC's & endearing but I haven't seen any males the size of the MC,big yes but not as "huge"......x

Our Mandy could be NFC and Coonie, she's got a huge ruff and her body is short, stocky legs too. She's also more cuddly than Coonies are said to be, and painfully shy. DH teases that she acts like a wild animal, always on the alert and scaredy-cat. She looks like something that lives in the forest, especially when she's up in a tree LOL! As for introducing a male, get them fixed early but know this is no guarantee that it will take the "boy" out of the cat LOL! Our males are fiercely territorial and being neutered doesn't stop them from "expressing" their masculinity on walls and furniture sometimes. Merlin is the "low cat" on the totem pole but wants to be the top, and if he was a human he'd be called a chauvinist pig. He's quite forward with the females, and they really don't like that. He is quite vocal when he wants something and only bothers female humans for food, the cat equivalent of "Hey woman get in the kitchen and make me a sandwich!" We love our boys because they are just big babies inside and they are laid back and fun-loving, especially when they romp outside and hunt. However, just like my human sons they tend to make a lot of messes and drive me CRAZY. Male cats: Love one at your own risk!

I don't know a lot about NFC, I guess I never realized what they were. I know just about MC cats. How similar are they?
