New years resolution... Must remember to feed the cats
Today we lost a kitten that is actually reserved, the cats where playing outside in the snow.
We thought the kittens were playing in the house..
After a frantic search outside in the snow... She had 2 night before taken her self off outside..
Found her here she is in the bin... under the sink, she could only have got in through the rubbish disposal unit on the sink, I heard a rustling and a squeaking... I thought OMG we have mice ...
No Just a 13 week old blue TORTIE tabby BRITISH....rooting around in the bin
Note for 2011 Must remember to feed cats!!!

Awww, look at her face...
I remember hubby and me frantically turning the house upside down because we didn't see Minnie anywhere (who was very tiny at the time). After about half an hour of searching in every nook & corner I found her behind some books on the bottom shelf of a bookcase. Phew!

New Years resolution
Why is it that even when you know they can't have got out you go into real panic mode, I lost Bruce Friday morning & he is not exactly small, looked in all the rooms including the ones where you knew you hadn't been, under the furniture, behind the curtains, under the xmas tree....,feeling sick nearly 30 minutes of hunting & calling no sign,no good rattling food dish because that has never worked with him even as a kitten, started crying, thought how stupid, told myself to calm down & start room by room again, heading for the bedrooms I heard a faint noise, stopped in the hall to listen & could hear chirrups called his name & they got louder, over an hour before had gone into the pine unit to get the iron out, inbetween standing up & closing the door his lordship had got in without me realising, when I opened the door there laid a very happy little boy curled up in the small space where the iron had been, howled again with relief, strong coffee,Bruce still laying content in cupboard but with door open.
Now had I not gone into panic mode & took note all the while I was screeching like a headless chicken Shimba was sitting right by that cupboard door looking at it,who was the fool......!
The one place I didn't look was in the bin.

What an adorable look on the kittens face, Debbie - a mixture of relief and mischief!
We lost Wicca a few weeks ago, and you're right Jackie - we knew that there was no chance she could have got out of the house but it didn't stop me turning the house up-side down and inside out for half an hour before - on a whim - I checked all our wardrobe's... OH hadn't spotted her slink in past him in the morning and it's only because I was working from home that she was let out so soon; if I'd been in the office she'd have been there for about 8 hours!
Has it stopped her climbing back in? Don't be ridiculous.
And I didn't check the bin either!

Oh Jackie! Had a good chuckle at yours and Karen's posts, re losing a cat somewhere in the house. I can just imagine Shimba sitting in front of the cupboard, almost pointing at it, wondering why on earth you weren't getting the message!
When we got Larry we were paranoid about kitten safety, having never had a kitten before, and we had heard horror stories about kittens getting into washing machines and going through a spin cycle. So we wrote on our washer in marker pen 'LARRY - CHECK'. Well, of course he never got in there and even if he did, I'm sure we would notice a 6kg monster getting in the way of the washing!

Lol, I would not have checked the bin if it had not been for the rustling, we had field mice last year, spent a fortune getting rid of them, and I thought on no... they are back.... Just the cat...
I have lost cats in the house especially the Abys, in some amazing places before but never the bin..
