Rainbow Bridge?
I know we all keep shouting demands but would it be possible to have a Rainbow Bridge / Remembrance Section on the Forum please? I suppose I am still very emotional after recent events but I really do believe that there is a place on every pet forum for a place to go to remember / think / read etc. I had a very emotional talk about life / death with a very close 84 year old man yesterday who loves his pets past and present and faces his own difficulties with his own mortality and those of one of his beloved cats age 24!!!! I had to explain Rainbow Bridge to him as he had never heard of it; and when I read him the poem he suddenly burst into life recalling stories of all his parted pets over so many many years. A very Religious and proud man made me promise to read this poem at his own funeral to call all his furry friends to him.
My most beloved pet ever has on his grave stone "Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep - I play in happy green pastures once again full of life, I am waiting for you at the Rainbow til we cross the Bridge together"

I think that Rainbow Bridge is a good idea, if it is possible to organise. It is a nice final gesture for our furbabies.

The other pet forum I belong to out of the US has a Rainbow Bridge section.
That how I found this place, when Samantha passed I was crushed, I found and joined a pet bereavement site.
In Memory Of Pets
But it doesn't get a lot of posting, people post about their departed pet for a week or 2 then they move on.
So I started searching for a regular cat forum, one had no traffic and another never sent be the e-mail to complete the registration process.
So I looked for a Maine Coon Cat forum and joined here before I realized it was based in the UK, not that it matters except for the time difference between the UK and California which I believe is 8 hours.
Pet lovers are the only people that understand what it means to loose a beloved furry soulmate, some people think you can just get another like it's a pair of shoes.
I recently lost my estranged older brother, he was 68 and 12 years older then me and we were never very close, I probably saw and talked with him 6 times in the last 20 years.
I'm sorry he's dead but I miss Samantha a lot more then him, Samantha was my best friend and constant companion for 15 1/2 years.

Cooncatbob I've said it before and will never change my mind - your love of Samantha shines through in every post you make, she was the most fortunate cat ever to have found the pure love and adoration that she so clearly found with you. If I died in my sleep tonight my last wish would be to wake up tomorrow morning as a kitten on your doorstep. You can talk to me all you want about your pets, I will never tire of the tails of their fortunate lives xx

Thanks, Actually I've been the lucky one.
First to have been chosen by Meme to be her human even though I did nothing to deserve it, she taught me about unconditional love as she adored me, Samantha was the gift I bought myself to ease my broken heart when Meme passed away while I was on a road trip.
Samantha taught me acceptance, she was different from Meme but I learned to accept her for the cat she was not what I wanted her to be and our love and bond grew and grew until her passing, I feel blessed that I was able to be there for her at the very end, I have a great deal of sorrow that I wasn't their when Meme died and to hold my beloved friend and to tell her how much I loved her and would miss her means a great deal to me.
If I had my choice I'd just like to stay there at the rainbow bridge with Samantha and Meme and all the other animals who are waiting, that would be my idea of heaven.

I know exactly how you feel. My very special boy was Sooty, just a moggy but such a special mogmog. He meant the absolute world to me, and we were so close it was pretty obvious to everybody who came in to our home. I miss him so much, and I can't wait to be reunited with him again! x

Consider it done. I do apologise I remember your initial request and did think it was a good idea, but like increasingly many things these days I hadn't gotten around to it. But its there now.
