Kitty Brain Train 2in1 Cat Toy £13.69
Cat Play Toys: Kitty Brain Train from zooplus
Got this through today and have just played with Storvenn and Loki with it. Essentially its a solid wooden disc with two activities on it. On one side you have holes to put treats in, which you then cover with wooden balls. On the other side are two tracks with small balls, one per track. The balls cant come out of the tracks, so the cats hit them and they move around the circular track.
The main reason I got this item was for the 'hunt the treat' game. I felt that the furry ones and I could sit down and play for a bit and they can get some kind of mental work out.
This is going to be a very vague review at this time as both Storvenn and Loki need time to work out what to do. Well.. one of them does (see video).
Quality of item.
Pretty solid. It appears to have been routed out of two pieces of wood and stuck together, trapping the 'track balls' on one side. The wooden balls to block the holes are reasonably sized and I wouldnt imagine any of them being able to get one in their mouth, heck.. I would struggle (no comments ty.)
The holes where you put the treats in are a bit small for coonies. I would suspect this is going to be a toy which they will only be able to play with whilst young. They can get their paws into the holes, just, but its pretty hard for them to get the treats with their mouths.
Now.. having said that. One of them has managed to work it out already and can remove the treats with their mouth so it might just be me thinking its small whereas in reality it just makes them work for the treat.
Overall impressions:-
Good qualtity, heavy item so it doesnt move around when they push the balls about. If they still play with it in a week or so then I will come back and update this thread.

Sorry for the dark video. It was getting a little late when I filmed this.

On the flip side of the Kitty Brain Train is the 'ball in track' play thing. Both of them love this and its quite relaxing to sit down and play kitty tennis. Loki or Storvenn on one side of the disc and me on the other passing the ball to each other.
-------------------------------------
Update: Ive been placing kitty treats under the wooden balls (other side of the toy) and leaving it for them to work out. I got out to work and when I come home the wooden balls are scattered everywhere and no treats are left. So one / both of them has worked it out properly.
Overall score: 9/10
Only let down by the smaller holes which I think may hinder them later in life.
