That leafy tree house looks so cool Candes!
Went to buy the atlas tree at zooplus as it was only £59 and it has jumped to £79 overnight! Very annoying!! Just want to get him something cheap until we have done more research on self build trees. Maybe we could build it round an actual living little tree?!

We've taken some inspiration from candes' pics and found ourselves a good tree branch to build our cat tree around! I'll get some pics up as soon as we get started!

Think our plan us to secure the tree to a base board on the floor and also the wall and then build shelves around it that are fixed to the wall. I would like to get a hammock in somewhere too!

Any cat tree recommendations
Shimba says he knows they would love the hammock if you can fix one in somewhere but make sure it is in material that stretches,he luvs his when he can get it bouncing up & down, his head comes up & nearly hits the platform its attatched too then down it goes again,I am sure one day it has got to give way with all the stick his weight is giving it,but until then, great fun.....

Tigga towers are brilliant and nice to look at but I do not have one as they are so expensive maybe one day! I did have a ceiling tower when my Maine coons were small but I was very concerned at the way they played on it, sometimes slipping off the side so I split it down into two smaller ones.
Some of my friends have said such heights can be dangerous. and should only be used for adult cats.
What do others think?

I reckon that the cat would probably be fine... though if an adult maine coon landed on YOU then you'd be seriously worse for wear!
I know that when Schro is on the tree and he's running around as if his bums on fire i cant help but feel rather nervous and at risk from him landing on me, i know its just a matter of time before he decides to experiment with some free-fall.

Hiya,
We pick up our new kitten Jolly (Paddington) on the 19th November, so in preparation of the mayhem and destruction we have ordered this...
Cat Tree Bora Bora on sale now at zooplus
I love the look of the Tigga Towers but a bit too pricey for us. Cant wait for it to arrive and put it together (and the kitten too of course)
Jennie.

How strange - I was just looking at the very same tower Jolly! Would love to get one for our Coonies but can't quite stretch to it at the moment - so they will clamber all over our Argos special until they get a bit bigger. The Tigga Towers are gorgeous but think I'll have to wait til my numbers come up on the lottery for that little extravagance!
Incidentally, Zooplus have a further 20% off Cat Trees until 14th November with the coupon code "HIGHLIFE" - just in case anyone's looking at the mo!
