"Time"
By: John E Mingo Sr
Beyond Life's Gateway where all beloved pets will go,
With our loving Memories, in our Hearts and our Souls.
That's beyond all bridges and rainbows you know,
When a journey through time, never seems to go slow.
The stories we shared and the candles we light,
Those signs of comfort and dreams are so bright.
In Memory Of Pets where we all do care,
Where expressing of Feelings and Love we do share.
Reflections in Time and the path we will meet,
Beyond Life's Gateway where a new life we shall seek.
This poem was by the late John Mingo, founder of the "In Memory of Pets" bereavement forum, there was a whole site of his poems but it gone or moved.

Oh please will you all stop crying. I found great comfort in these words in he past and I asked Dave for this Section as I honestly believe that every cat has the right to have their life showcased for all to see. Every cat leaves a mark on your heart and I think its an honour to our cats that we feel able to share the story of their life. Every single cat that has come into my life has had an effect on it, even those that were only with me to live their final days in secure comfort. Others like Fudge, have a long lasting effect. I honestly believe that Fudge sent Buddy to me and nothing anyone ever says will change that. And before that Paddy sent Fudge.
I hope the day is a long way off that others on here will find the same comfort in these poems xxx

This one gave me much comfort when I had to let Sooty go.
'If it should be that i grow weak,
and pain should keep me from my sleep,
then you must do what must be done,
for this last battle cannot be won.
You will be sad; I understand
don't let grief then stay your hand
for this day, more than all the rest,
your love for me must stand the test.
We've had so many happy years,
what is to come can hold no fears,
you'd not me to suffer do,
the time has come to let me go.
Take me to where my needs they'll tend,
and please stay with me to the end,
hold me firm, and speak to me,
until my eyes no longer see.
Please do not grieve it must be you,
who had this painful thing to do,
we've been so close, we two these years,
don't let your heart hold back the tears.'
Love you baby boy xMummy to;
Sooty 9.6.1996 - 28.4.2011 Rest in peace my love

"If it should be" was sent to me many years ago after the loss of one of my dogs & from that day on it has been displayed up at work,I can't even hazzard a guess at how many copies have been taken away from the surgery,we have even had othe practices phone for a copy after someone on holiday has been in & seen it & told their own vet about it. I think it something you can read in one frame of mind & it gives you inner strength & peace & another time it opens the flood gates, the line that I think is very appropriate for where I work is "Please stay with me to the end".
When we had to say goodbye to China RIP I read this every night for over a week.....
Thanks catslave for Rainbow Bridge x
