Thanks for all your kind wishes. I am feeling better today, but still so angry. Our other furbabies are helping to ease the pain.

I don't know how I missed this. I'm so sad to hear about lovely Theo and what a heartless person the bin person was. Your sad story reminded me of what happened to one of my cats a few years ago. I came home from work to find him laying on the grass verge in front of the house not moving. I realised what had happened after I called him and nothing moved. I rushed into the house hysterical and called my husband. Whilst I was on the phone a council truck pulled up and a guy got out and literally 'shovelled' up my cat! I don't think he knew what hit him as I flew out of the house screaming at him just as he was putting the cat into a black plastic sack! Apparently whoever had knocked him over rang either the police or the council and someone was dispensed to clear him up. Now he had a collar on with our name and address clearly shown and nobody even put a note through the letterbox! If I'd been 10 minutes later I'd never have known what happened to him. I called the police who told me they have no legal obligation to notify owners about dead cats but they do about dogs! It's scandalous :(
