Whilst I didn't read the whole of the link, I did note that all the complaints I saw were from the US. Hopefully food in the UK is not causing similar problems. Having had digestion problems in the past with adults and kittens (not with Purina products I might add though I don't feed Purina dry very often), I am always very wary of introducing new foods and monitor the animals' reaction to any new food very carefully.

Hi, as a breeder we have used purina in the past and it caused allsorts of digestive issues in our coonies. However we were part of the UK trials for Royal Canin Maine Coon Kitten 36 when it was first tested and released into the UK. It has taken the food scientists years to find out that coonies absorb protein at lower levels than other cat breeds and this has contributed to the 'maine coon delhi belly' label that they have been given over the years. Coonies are susceptible to higher protein levels between the ages of 6 months - 2 years whereby their metabolism starts to compensate and reduces the delhi belly in most cases. This is why RC now do a kitten food specific to maine coons. Metronidazole is a brilliant drug used to treat T Foetus and similiar but has proved highly successful in treating maine coon delhi belly.
