also some at home shots since the kitties are more themselves and dont look grumpy ( well apart from zelda "screaming" at the camera)!

awwwww I always love to see pics of those two - I am sorry for the favoritism, but especially likkle Zelda who I have a soft spot for, being Mini-Coon and all that...
also, I did go on your blog a few times, Christine - love that video of them helping you put your laces on.... ;-)
    cuddles to both!

Brilliant photos & just luv Mr M's lynx tips, daren't say anything about beating your breeders cat.....!!!!! Lets hope something else will come closer for you to be able to try out,we have just started showing TICA with Ruby, Merl RIP done one but the format wasn't for him & I know it won't suit Shimba but Ruby blossomed with being whipped from ring to ring & she was a real show off & a tart while she was with the French judge.......
If there is no infection with Zeldas ears just try a wad of warm damp cotton wool {not wet so it goes down ear canal as that isn't good} & reguarlly keep cleaning them, Bruce has waxy ear problems & I can get them looking good & they can stay like it for ages then one day you will look & wonder where the heck the wax has come from again so it is back to cleaning for a few days....... cuddles to furries from over here please xxxx

been cleaning zeldas ears everyday and still no avail think im going to go back to the vet for a 4th opinion as she shakes her head a lot now.... with all the cleaning its now very liquidy and squishy sounding if you rub under her ear :( poor wee woman!
on another note Marshall's report was finally put up on the website ( i had to email the judge as she put up an entirely different show!)
I cant say I'm surprised with his report but a little disappointed that she mentioned his rough textured fur... I know he's not a soft as Zelda but when it reflects on you as having groomed and prepped for show its a little disappointing. She also commented about him being very shy on the day so Ive decided to not show him again as he just doesn't enjoy it and thats not why I got him in the first place, he's my big softy pet first and I'd rather give him a stress free happy life!

    report : 1 PC WHITE’S ANAMCARAMAINE BRAVESTARR 64 41 MN 13.1.12
Approaching two years old boy who is still developing in stature. Head is medium in length and of good breadth with fairly full cheeks and high cheek bones. In profile shallow concave curve at the nasal bridge, nose is a trifle long but of uniform width. Large ears, wide at base, set high but well apart and tapering to appear pointed at tips with tall tufts and light feathering. Full and round shape to pale green eyes, spaced wide apart and with slightly oblique aperture and set. Fair width to square muzzle, level bite but shallow chin. Good size and weight to long body with good muscle tone, square rump and good breadth to chest give a rectangular appearance. Proportionate length, well boned legs and large rounded paws with tufts emanating from under paws. Long tail, wide at base and tapering towards the tip and with fairly profuse, flowing fur. Good undercoat with more substantial top coat which would have benefitted from better presentation, slightly harsh in texture. Some breeches and shaggy belly fur, hint of frontal ruff. Brown Tabby Maine Coon of golden brown ground colour with heavy black pattern. Very shy fellow.

Hi Christin if you can get a squishy sound then it sounds like a deep infection in the ear canal or even a polyp although she is rather young for that, when Bruce had his bad ear problem he was hit with tabs & drops for it for a long period, whatever you are given make sure you go back & get the ear checked at the end of "treatment" my boss always insists on that other than for straightforward thing such as mites, his opinion is that you might think they are better but you need someone to look right down to check, the number of clients who are sure the animal is ok but he can still see a problem & however slight it is if you don't knock it completely it will flare up again......
I wouldn't worry about the report on the fur being harsh if cats are on coat change over it is going to be a different texture I love it when you go up & they say about this one has kitten coat....well yep it is a kitten so think it is to be expected.......!!!! We never intended showing & that is why we were going to pack in with Merl but so pelased that we tried the other format with him he blossomed & what we liked best was the fact that he loved the attention he got from the public, him along with Shimba who has taken over the role of promoting MC's just lapp up the ohs & arhhs of people who can't believe such a giant can be so gentle, I think that gives me as much pleasure as any of the other part but showing isn't for everyone or every furry I always say mine are pets first the other bit is a bonus & at the end of the day if you do show you still take the best in show cat home with you because thats what they are they are yours.....xxx

hi Christin - well, it might not be the same because I am not a MC, but I have ekzema in my ear. How it works: if I leave it alone, at first it does produce more (yuk) then it just goes away, comes back if I am stressed or rub/try to clean my ears. If I clean my ears, it starts itching, then as I rub/clean/scratch I get an ear infection, with lots of squishy stuff (double yuk) and it is sometimes very painful.
again, not sure if it's the same, but ... just thought I should share my experience because may be it is.
Big cuddles to your monsters. Love the blog! xoxo

Alekto - you might be onto something there! never thought of that ill mention it to the vet! and its just one ear for zelda and marshall has never caught it ( he cleans it ALL the time) if it was a big infection i would expect him to have mingy ears too? thanks for the suggestions everyone xx
