Regretfully photos can be misleading as is the case here and i apologise for any expense you have incurred concerning Rasputin's registration, however with reference to your latest post, i actually said "I think he is a blue silver", i then asked you to take a look at his father on my site to compare the colour, to which you agreed his colouring was the same (his father being blue silver tabby). When you emailed to say you would have registered him as a silver classic tabby you were refering to what he was recorded as on his pedigree and contract, not that you were in disagreement with what we were both at the time agreeing to. As i have already mentioned in my first post, your statement is misleading and unfair as to the actual events leading up to Rasputin being registered as a blue silver tabby. I do not wish to continue this pointless discussion, however i hope you will carry on to keep me updated on Rasputin's health, development and any future concerns you may have.

Having read all this could I suggest a bit of mediation and that perhaps an agreement could be reached with regards to costs as a gesture of goodwill? As the breeder I believe that you should really have known the colour of you own kitten and registered as such; colour of parents is not really a good indicator so this should have been checked properly.
This is just my opinion but given the previous great comments before this incident I think it would help x

Thanks catslave
Sueragdandy, thank you for your apology. I appreciate that you do not wish to continue this discussion however I do have to add that when I asked you the difference between silver and blue silver you said, "The markings will be black, he is like his dad, take a look at his dad."
I really don't think that particularly as a first time owner, the onus should've been on me to actively disagree with an experienced breeder.
I very much appreciate that the difference between blue silver and silver can be difficult to tell, particularly from photos however I would not have had an issue with the registration being the wrong colour had I not then been put in a position where I had to pay for the correction.
As I said in my earlier post, in all other ways you've been great however I think it may be beneficial to avoid future issues that you make it clearer on your site that you don't register the cats with any approved body, just provide the pedigree and signed certificate of mating so that a new owner car register if they choose and that you will not be held responsible for any registration errors should the new owner choose to register their cat, either under your prefix or not.

We purchased Loki, a silver tabby from this breeder - sadly we found him listless approx 2 months ago and after an emergency trip to the vets, he was diagnosed with heart failure due to cardiomyopathy and was prescribed pretty much everything. He recovered to an extent, but sadly passed away a few days ago at the not so grand age of 2 and a half. We are devastated and I am merely putting this note on here as a word of caution for other prospective buyers. We certainly never want to go through this experience again.

thanks for your kind words...we've heard that another kitten from the same litter has/had the same problem but not had it confirmed. Either way I wouldn't want anyone else to go through this and just want people to be aware

Oh dear......so very sorry for your loss, I was so panic stricken earlier this year because Mischa had a reaction to her Rabies injection and developed a rather large lump which we were advised to have removed which we did ....... unfortunately, she then went on to develop an infection in the area, wasn't eating nor drinking, and was going to be admitted again as she was really really poorly and dehydrated, but luckily the vet decided to risk giving her an injection of antibiotics to get into her system quicker than drops etc. and slowly but surely she did pick up.....I never want to go there again.

Dot, Poor Mischa, that had to be terrifying for you all! I can not imagine. We give them shots to keep them healthy and to have that happen. I am so glad to hear that she did recover! I wonder how often cats have reaction to shots? Ginger got a shot when she was a kitten and she was in so much pain the next day, she hissed at the OH when he tried to feed her. I don't remember what is was, but we opted not to get the booster shot. She is not around other cats, so the vet said she could go with out it.

I adopted one of Susan's adult cats last year, and is been a brilliant experience!
Kat (formally Tourmaline. ...sorry Susan) was two when I adopted her. I was was impressed by her knowledge and passion for her cats.
I'm hoping to have another cat from Susan in the near future.
