Does your M C do the following?
Pick a place to rest /sleep like a box and use this for about a month. Then the box is ignored and a new place , like the top of the sofa, is chosen. Again this may be the favourite place for a few weeks until she discovers another spot. It is always somewhere she can keep an eye on me!

Teddy has certain places he likes sleeping at certain times of the day - during the day when the blinds are open he likes to sleep at the very top of his cat tree so he can see out. In the evenings he sleeps on the kitchen chairs (probably hoping for dinner scraps) and at night he loves sleeping behind the sofa.
They're odd, these cats!

I'm hoping Oscar is going to grow out of his baby place to sleep - my pillow! I don't fancy having a 9kg cat on my head all night! Its bad enough wrestling for leg space from Alfie and Chester without waking up with a stiff neck as well

Ours sleep all day and keep us up all night. We've only just started locking them out of our bedroom as they like to chase each other over us. The MC's don't seem to have any preference where they sleep or what surface!

Oh the list is long..............the only place they have always slept is on the stairs - they are open ones in the living room so depending on the season they are warm (winter heat rising) or cool in direct line of the celing fan!
Apart from that here we go.........behind the sofa, on the dining chairs, on the front door mat, windowledge - a bit risky as they are getting bigger and the ledge stays the same, on the bed, under the bed, under the crib and many more probably which we have not spotted!

Yes, my Maine Coon does this. We never know where he'll be sleeping next. Lots of cat hair to pick up. Can never put away the vacuum cleaner. lol
A cat chooses you, you only think you choose a cat.

On the topic of odd cat behaviour...
Does anybody else's MC hide things in little nooks and crannies?? Poif is obsessed with putting things in holes! Started with her toy mice and a hole in the floorboard, but she sticks all of her toys and sometimes items of clothing under sofas, washing machines etc.
I've literally just caught her in the act of putting her lead and harness down a crack in our floorboard!! Tried to take some pics, but its quite dark.

Bullet decided he liked the look of the back of the chair, fell off it twice and decided the couch was best. That's right, beds, toys and he played with a plastic bag and a dog teddy and is sleeping on the couch...Not amused! lol
