Buxton & Frisco growing,, Growing, YIKES!!!

Buxton & Frisco, our 6 month old polydactyls just returned home from the vetrinarian after being neutered. They are both close to 10 pounds, 9.3 & 9.5 respectively. Our vet is amazed at how they are growing... as big right now as a normal adult cat and they still have their paws and ears to grow into But, they are happy & healthy and mischievous as only Maines can be Both are very talkative and I think their vocabulary grows by the day... We have a mockingbird in our area and they mimic it which irritates the bird to no extent. It is amusing in the morning to hear the conversation between them. Will try and get some new pictures if I can get them to sit still without showing their butts for the world to see.

Butt picture is better than none...x
Shimba had a blackbird friend ,he didn't imitate it but every day the bird would appear outside the sitting room window & talk to Shims, one day Shimba was sitting in the kitchen window instead & the bird chirruped its head off trying to get Shimba to move windows, the bird gave in first & moved along but after that Shimba took great pleasure in making the bird guess which window he would appear at,even better was when a pidgeon took Shims eye instead, the blackbird would dance around making as much noise as it could trying to say I am over here look at me,he has been about the last couple of winters/spring & I am hoping he puts in an appearance this year,I will even try & learn how to use the cam-corder if he does the photos I took done no justice to the performance !

I hear ya! I think I blinked and my 4 month old is now 3/4 the size of my adult domestic kittys with paws the same size as them. I went from having a little bubba to a giant bubba. Every day I'm seeing changes. I'm enjoying it but I want to shrink him back to 6-8 weeks old haha.

What I love about having MCs is everyone else's reaction to them! I mean, you know they're big, but you live with them every day. When someone else sees them they're always completely gobsmacked about how big they are! Makes me soooo proud :-))

My Coonies arent even that big – just average-sized MCs – but I have gotten so used to it that other cats suddenly seem tiny in comparison. There’s a brown tabby moggy roaming our neighbourhood and before we got the Coons I always thought him a big cat. But nowadays when I see him outside I always think: gosh, how small you are!

Hi Ams, I think my MC was about that weight at five or six months. Now at almost ten months - he's approaching 17 pounds, so plenty of growing yet to do!
