Mylo's weight
Hi guys. Mylo is now 1 year and 2 months old. I was wondering if any of you had any idea of how weights can fluctuate from cat to cat. Mylo currently weighs somewhere between 4.5 and 5 kg. His breeders told me about a month ago that his brother already weighs 6kg. Mylo has never had any diarrhoea or vomiting (except when he sometimes barfs up a little cat grass). He always has Royal Canin maine coon food in his bowl which he eats regularly, and also gets a tin of applaws meat or fish every other day. He seems completely healthy but does feel a little boney over his back. Your thoughts would be appreciated! Few recent-ish pictures attached.

I wouldn't be concerned, Mylo might be more active then his brother.
MCC are slow to mature and don't reach there final growth until they're around 5 years old.

I don't know about the weight, but he sure is a beautiful boy. Kenny is a similar age and he will get weighed at the vet on Friday, so it will be interesting to see how much he weighs now.

My two bruvs differ in weight,Shimba is a big boned hulking 10kg & Welly is a perfectly formed gentleman weighing in at a sedate 7.30kgs,when I first had them for a couple of months Welly weighed the heaviest & then suddenly Shims overtook & there was no stopping the noticable weight & size difference it just happens the same as it does in humans so don't worry,my boys are now 4 so know what I've got is how they are going to be but the prescence of both is just as equal despite the size difference so don't worry & Mylo certainly looks good....x

Yes I have a similar experience as Jackie's - Larry and Monty are littermates, and for the first month or so Monty was the heaviest. Then Larry took over and has grown into a stocky, heavy, clumsy lad at 7kgs, whilst Monty is long, lean and agile, taller than his brother, and has never quite hit 6kgs.
Mylo is a gorgeous chap, it sounds like he's healthy and he looks stunning!

Mylo is one of our offsprings. His dad (Micheil) is 6kg, his mum (Vega) is 5kg so he won't be a hudge monster but he is still growing His brother (Carlito) lives with 6 other cats and gets lots of extra snacks His half sister Duna (lives with Carlito) is 8 months old now and is almost the same size like Carlito. They are like humans- never identical Some photos attached:

Really funny - his brother looks just like him. But without the white paws.. Good to hear other peoples stories I would hate to think he was under weight for some reason, so it's good to know this is not unusual.
Thanks Mark

Mark,
A good place to check out is the Weight Comparision Chart in the "Cat Chat" forum here. A number of members posted their MC's ages and weights.
Mylo is handsome and looks healthy.
