Mousetrap moment!
Thought I'd share our Mousetrap (the game) moment!
We bought a new (second) scratching post for our lot a couple of weeks ago. It's about 3 feet tall, just a post, not that sturdy but gives them a good stretch. Except Moonlight likes to shimmy up it like a bear, balances on the top and surveys her land. She's getting a bit possessive about it too! Shadow's started to do the same, thank goodness Sunshine hasn't - he'd never do it!
Anyway, on to the incident! Saturday morning, breakfast time, food bowls all laid out in the lounge as normal. Me and my husband eating breakfast on the sofa. In comes Moonlight, launches herself at the pole, pole goes flying over, lands on a food bowl, bowl flys up into the air, showering wet food everywhere (and I mean everywhere!), bowl lands on Sunshine who gets spooked, runs across the coffee table and knocks over a pint of tea, which goes all over the table, it's content - everywhere really! Like I said - Mousetrap!
Moonlight spent the next half hour looking sheepish while my husband and I were on hands and knees picking up food, mopping up tea etc! Oh and I think Sunshine got tea on his belly fur so I gave him a bit of a wash to spruce up his fur anyway. What a fun Saturday breakfast time!Last edited by JanieB; 16th January 2012 at 11:56 AM.

So funny! What a shame you couldn't have got this on video. Classic coonie clumsiness causing chaos!
Sounds like you are true coonie lovers for just laughing and not getting too fussed about the mess.
Might be an idea to do something about that post though....

Yes, you've got to love em! We could see it all happening but couldn't do anything to stop it/grab the camera! Been looking at tigga towers with granite base - might need to invest in one I think x

Haha! My children can't make such a mess in so short a time! You've gotta love them haven't you, so much madness and they sure can make a dull day fun.

Very amusing to read. Just hope you have managed to clear the food and tea up without leaving stains.

Well the tea and food are now all cleared up - but we've had a new 'little game' this morning - what next?! I had a large gift bag full of presents in it - left it on the sofa for a moment while I did something. Next thing I know, Moonlight has grabbed the handles and is charging around the room with it clattering behind her - knocking over everything in its wake. Why is it always Moonlight!!!!! Wonder what tomorrow will bring........

I know - I only popped into the kitchen!!! Not having had coonies before we did find it odd when we when we went to visit them at the breeders and they didn't have ANY ornaments out. Plus Moonlight (it had to be!) was 'playing' with the tortoise in his house. Just over a year later we now know better...!!!! Good job we love em x
