Deedee is here!
Hello everybody
Deedee has finally arrived and she is gorgeous and playful, actually a bit of a nutter to be to be honest haha. We are very happy she has settled in instantly...not stopped purring! I will put pictures up soon.
We expected Bungo not to be happy and show some animosity torwards us which he has, hissing growling ect only thing is he has really got upset and is hissing at us as well just wanted to know if this is normal? It is only the first day but I did not expect Bungo to react like this towards us,feel guilty! We have tried giving him plenty of attention and treats but he is still hissing at us I am sure it will get better in time
Thanks

Hi When I brought Ginger my MC kitten home, I have two beagles and I kept them separated for a few days, I would pet them and then pet her to get their scent on her and hers on them after a few days everything calmed down, When I had two main coon Cats if I gave one a bath the other hated them, so I would bathe them both on the same day. Good luck with the new kitten, I love mine so much! She is just a joy to have around.

Carry on as normal, the more that you play to Bungo the more he will use that as an excuse, introductions are all different,i have had them go very well & have had them where there is hissing & you think what the hell have I done but even in the "bad"cases while I am around I have just let them get on with it,if for some reason they aren't going to get on at all{& it does sometimes happen}then there will be no difference if they are introduced on day 1 or further down the line,as donnad mentions smell has a lot to do with it & daughter has a cat that will still at 12 hiss & go for her other cat if it had a show bath but that is why whenever I collect a new babe I make sure it travels home on a well used bed from the others to start replacing the smells with ones that the group knows... I know it is hard but normally they do get there,I think five months was the longest we had to endure hissing when a newbie went into the same room, after a while you would get the odd days when you thought great peace reigns then off it went again & despondency sets in but also there then comes the day when you come home unexpectedly & see them all curled up together when you look through the window but by the time you get in they are worst enemies. We found it hard when we first had hissing as the first three cats were introduced with no problems so then to get one that was "hated" was a shock, have always found joint playtime with something that is extra special to the older cat a great help & though we have had some noisy introductions the last one was back to the norm all peaceful & makes me feel that I should have another babe to enjoj it all over again ....xxx
