Male or Female 2nd Maine Coon?
Hi all
We are thinking about getting a companion Maine Coon for our six month old Maine Coon girl (spayed). I keep reading that it's better to get a male kitten as the male/female combination get on better than female/female. But given the size difference between female and male adult Maine Coons, would it not be a problem once the male gets much bigger than the female?
Not sure what to do and would be thankful for any input you may have.

I have had a mix of both being introduced into our furry family & the last girl was taken under the furry guiedence of the two brothers who weigh in at 10kg & 8kg so I wouldn't worry about weight difference at all, from my point of view what I would say is that I think it is great having a mix of the sexes ..... good luck & keep us updated.....xxx

Of my 10 cats, the heaviest two are neutered girls, though my mature neutered boy is longer and taller he is much slimmer and a couple of pounds lighter. I wouldn't worry about any size difference, it doesn't matter to them.

Totally agree with everybody else ... we have an elderly 'moggy' who's half the size of the MC boys & girls and he still manages to get them running!
Just go with the furry that steals your heart
