Kneading??
Since the topics of Coonie quirks seem to be popular today, anyone have a grown up "baby Coon" that still kneads like a kitten?? Mandy does this to me, and only me. Not blankets, not other people, just my neck or shoulders while she nuzzles and pushes her wet nose into my armpit!! She closes her eyes and purrs loudly as she kneads, then falls into a deep sleep. She's almost four years old now...not that Mommy minds LOL she can be Baby Mandy forever!!

One of my MCs is a big kneader. Since he was little, he comes up to my head when I'm sleeping and kneads my hair. It tangles it up horribly, but he purrs so loudly I can't stop him. It averages about three times a week usually, but if I return from vacation, he amps it up. In January we came back from a three week trip, the longest we've been away from the cats. The night of our return he did three kneading sessions, and I woke up looking like it was 1988 again. Like you, he doesn't knead anything or anyone else, just mommy. My other MC keeps coming up to my pillow because Oliver's obviously found something wonderful there, looks around confused and then wanders off.

hah - in times of cuddle withdrawals (need cuddle, urgently, and makes it known by pained cries - "please-please-please I neeeeeeed it nooooow" - happens generally twice a day and I'm more than happy to oblige) mine catches my hand, and starts licking it clean, while purring - if I try to take it away she grabs it with both paws and brings it back - and after a while also starts kneading the air while licking my hand. At first I just found it gross, but now I find it cute.

That is so funny, Ginger kneads the blankets on my bed and the couch! She has soft nails on so I hear her tapping down the hall to the bedroom. Light as a feather she hops on the bed and kneads the blankets while purring loud enough to wake the dead! What a big girls she is to be acting like a kitten!

Every night, just before sleeping I get a good five minutes hard kneading, just in my right shoulder where the tendonitis is worst.
My chiropractor could not understand why the treatment wasn't working, so now I have a cushion over the top and it isn't quite so bad....If I try to stop him, or move him on to my husband, he just huffs and starts all over again.

Maybe he is trying to save you money on the chiropractor by doing a message on the affected shoulder? Ginger is kneady too! especially if you are trying to sleep!

Merlin only kneads when he wants food >:-/ He woke me up at 5am this morning, going around in circles on my head and kneading my chest and face until I woke up.
The most pathetic kneader here is our fat ginger tabby Sampson. It is quite funny to see such a BIG boy kneading away on a soft blankie, purring so loudly it turns into a high-pitched whistle! His favorite spot is our five year old daughter's bed, where he kneads her pink flower comforter and cuddles with stuffed animals LOL!
