I think we may have found our new home...
OK, so Hubby and I have been looking for a new house to buy.
We have a flat that we're selling in town, we have a buyer already so it's all in the process, but we're a bit the anxious type and we're not making any offer before the money is in our bank account. Should be done by end of June, hopefully - touch wood! (*pat Neevie's head 3 times*)
At the moment, in the meantime, we're renting a house - the owner wants to sell it, it's been on the Market for more than 5 years and he is not moving his price. It has a HUGE land, we don't need that much... We like it, but not for the price he's asking - also, there is a lot of work to do on the house, it would cost a lot - so I think the owner is a bit unreasonable to expect that huge amount... really for a land and a small bungalow that will need to be gutted to make it worth it.
We're going to make an offer for this one we're renting, but we think it's not going to be accepted - it's 1/3 of what he wants so sell for, and we're going to make the offer for only half of the land. I'll try to post pictures...
Because we're 90% sure our offer is not going to be accepted, we're also going to make an offer for another one - huge house, with a very big land by english standards, but that doesn't need so much structural work - it is very nice but it's been on the market for a long time because it's painted RED! THAT is really daft, that - if I were the owners I'd just re-paint it in a more emmmm fashionable color and it would probably sell for a lot of money. but as it is, I think people see the picture and they think "blergh! I ain't paying that amount of money for this eyesore" Obviously I htink the first thing we'll do obviously is get that sorted... and also the windows are not to my taste, we need to do something about that too - but really it has a lot of potential! it's in a very quiet area, too, I suspect mostly it's an area where retired people live which suits us fine - it's huge, I nearly got lost when we visited... Inside also, it's decorated by someone who obviously had the same tastes as my grandmother, but we're not buying the decor - new lick of paint on alllll those many rooms, new curtains, new furniture - and voila!
So watch this space! that might be the pirate's new Tortuga!

Good luck on your sale going through! How exciting. Fixer uppers are such a fun challenge. Do you have HGTV? I love watching "The Property Brothers" - the homes they remodel are amazing! Keep us posted!
