introduction to other pets
I dont know what section to put this in since it is not specific to Maine Coons so please move it if necessary
my friend has 5 ragdolls which were all bought separately from one breeder. the advice was to put a little talc on his hands and rub it into the fur of his cats before introducing a new cat which should also be treated to some talc. the logic being that any previous scents will be replaced with a common smell. he swears by it and i passed this suggestion on to my breeder when i collected my kitten. one of my cats is still slowly coming round but 2 are fine with the new kitten but i really cant say how much is down to personality and how much is down to this new method of introduction. i thought i would share it anyway just in case it comes in useful to anyone

oh yes, thank you Richie, I'll definitely try that ... wonder if it works with introduction cat/humans too, mine is PAINFULLY territorial, which is a pain when we have to go on holiday and leave her to the care of other people...
